Born and raised in Bronx County, New York, Julius C. DiFiore attended Fordham University where he earned a BA degree, Cum Laude, in Political Science in 1981. Upon graduation from Fordham, he attended St. John’s s University School of Law and was awarded the degree Juris Doctor in 1984. Following his law school graduation, Mr. DiFiore was appointed an Assistant District Attorney for Bronx County where he served in the Criminal Court, Grand Jury, Supreme Court and Narcotics Bureaus, and was ultimately appointed Supervising Attorney of the Narcotics Bureau. In 1993, he left the District Attorney’s office to open his own office for the practice of law and now concentrates in the areas of Criminal Defense, Residential Real Estate and Wills and Probate and Article 17A guardianships.
In addition to the practice of law, Mr. DiFiore has also been a member of the adjunct faculty in the Department of Law and Police Science of John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York since 2007. He has taught such courses as Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law and Evidence. Bringing his trial and legal background into the classroom, Mr. DiFiore approaches teaching law from the standpoint of developing in the students the ability to apply legal concepts and theories to real life scenarios.
Since 2012, Julius C. DiFiore has also been involved in the decision making part of the adjudicatory process as a Hearing Officer for the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings. In his capacity as a hearing officer Mr. DiFiore adjudicates summonses alleging violations of the New York City Health Code and the New York City Administrative Code.
Professionally, Mr. DiFiore is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Bronx County Bar Association and the New York State Defenders Association. Apart from the practice of law, he is active in charitable work as a member of the St. Theresa Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society where he is part of a team that runs a food pantry and clothing drive for people in need, and has helped to organize social events for developmentally disabled persons in Bronx, New York and Lower Westchester Counties. A parent of a child with autism, Mr. DiFiore has also been active in raising public awareness of the autism spectrum disorders.
Julius C. DiFiore is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and in the Federal District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
